January-March 2023: 306,305 STAYOVER visitors to Aruba

In the first 3 months of 2023, Aruba received a total of 306,305 “stayover” visitors, representing a 104% recovery compared to 2019, which is a 4% growth. 76.2% of stayover visitors were from the United States and of these visitors, 45% visited from the states.
New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey. Looking at airlines that arrived in Aruba in the first quarter, 23.1% of visitors to Aruba arrived with American Airlines, 22.3% with Jetblue and 14.3% with Delta Airlines.

In the first three months of 2023, the average stay of ′′stayover′′ visitors to Aruba from North America was 7.5 nights, compared to 7.3 nights in 2019. The average stay of European visitors was 11 nights, compared to 11.1 nights in 2019. The average stay of visitors from Latin America was 7.2 nights, compared to 8.3 nights in 2019.

The largest group of visitors who arrived in Aruba between January and March was the 50-69 age group, with 38.1% of visitors and 29.7% of visitors were between 30 and 49 years old. In this first quarter, 36.2% of visitors stayed in high-rise hotels, 8.4% stayed in low-rise hotels, 25.6% stayed in timeshare and 29.9% stayed in other types of accommodation.

By 2023, four indicators will continue to be used to measure tourism. Compared to 2019, by 2023, it is predicted that visitor numbers will recover by 105%, tourism revenue will recover by 117%, hotel room revenues according to AHATA figures will recover by 100%, and cruise visitor numbers will recover between 90% and 100%.
