In the Parliament of Aruba there is a proposed law to make same-sex marriage legal. Raad van Advies has advised Parliament to legalise same-sex marriage. The High Court in the Netherlands on November 10 will begin to evaluate the decision of the Court of Appeal that instructed the government of Aruba to legalize same-sex marriage. On the other hand, Aruba’s religious leaders started a signature action against it in December 2022.
Concluding remarks
Neither the Privy Council nor the High Court should have the final say in a matter of morality for our people. Same-sex marriage is not a right according to the European Court of Human Rights. For this reason Aruba is not obliged to legalize same-sex marriage. The final word rests with the people of Aruba. Eighteen thousand of these people in Aruba have signed a declaration that they want to keep marriage in our civil code as it is at the moment, that is, between a man and a woman.
Danger to our children
Although the lgbtq+ lobby says that this law does not affect our children, we see that in ideology and in practice they influence the minds of our children to consider homosexuality normal. We recall that a few months ago parents raised protests against primary schools where contrary to the existing curriculum some teachers were promoting homosexuality among their pupils. Thank God that these forefathers have opened the eyes of the people of Aruba to this reality. If Aruba’s Parliament legalizes same-sex marriage they will immediately legalize the right for schools to teach our children that homosexuality is normal. It’s actually already happening in Canada and other countries in a way that’s very vulgar, and we want to protect our children from it.
March for family
On Friday, November 3, religious leaders will deliver the 18,000 original pro-marriage signatures to our governors in a pro-family march. All citizens who want to protect our children against lgbtq+ ideology and maintain original families are welcome to join this march. Preparations for the march begin in front of the former DOW building on Paardenbaaistraat at 5 p.m.
