The incident in which shots were fired at a police officer’s vehicle is extremely serious. For this reason, the Dutch Caribbean Police Force (KPCN) is treating this matter with the utmost gravity. The investigation is in its initial stage and is being executed with caution and determination.
Violence, threats, and intimidation against police officers are completely unacceptable. Our officers must be able to perform their duties safely, without threats, intimidation, or aggression. KPCN stands firmly behind its staff and remains committed to their safety and protection.
We do not tolerate intimidation. We will continue to act in a professional, resolute, and united manner, delivering what is expected of us: to serve and protect our community.
Illegal firearms pose a direct threat to the safety of our community. The illegal possession and use of firearms, as well as using them to threaten others, are serious criminal offenses. We will act decisively against this. KPCN remains committed to detecting and removing illegal firearms from the streets.
As chief of police, I want this to be crystal clear: anyone who uses violence against our personnel, threatens them, or attempts to intimidate them will not discourage us. We will continue to do our work and will act with determination, within the bounds of the law, against those who cross these lines.
