Also shares study results regarding Aruba as a wedding destination.
The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) commissioned the study “Saying ‘I Do’ to the Business of Aruba Weddings” to analyze the wedding and honeymoon market, couple preferences, and the economic impact this industry can generate. The study shows that Aruba possesses strong qualities such as a romantic and exclusive atmosphere, unique venues, safety, reliable weather, and a wedding industry with years of experience, supported by established hotels and professionals offering reliable and professional service.
The results indicate a significant opportunity for Aruba to continue growing in this market. A wedding couple spends an average of USD 27,000, while each guest spends approximately USD 4,000, and a honeymoon traveler spends an average of USD 10,500. Furthermore, the study shows that modern weddings include more activities across multiple days, creating opportunities for accommodations, dining, excursions, transportation, and other local services.
Sustainability presents another important opportunity for Aruba. The study shows that couples value support for the local community, environmental protection, and respect for local culture, while couples with higher purchasing power are willing to pay between 30% and 50% more for sustainable options that are substantial and make a real impact. This gives Aruba the opportunity to further develop the wedding industry in a way that creates value for both the visitor and our island. Thus, Aruba can continue to strengthen its position as an attractive wedding destination, combining quality, sustainability, and the unique experience our island has to offer.
