Since yesterday, Sunday, the EAnews editorial team has received multiple notifications regarding a message widely circulating in chat groups. The message claims that an American tourist allegedly murdered their partner on December 25 at a hotel located in a high-rise building in Aruba.
According to the rumor, the victim’s body was supposedly hidden in a closet, while the suspect allegedly attempted to leave the island. Unofficial information also suggested that the individual had been detained.
Due to the volume of information received, EAnews contacted the official police spokesperson, Ms. Liliana Rasmijn, who completely denied the claim. According to the police, no such case has been recorded, and the circulating message is considered fake news.
Additional information later received by EAnews suggests that the rumor may have originated from a personal conflict, in which an angry taxi driver, for some reason, created the story with the intention of harming the hotel.
After verification with official police channels, EAnews can confirm that this information is not based on facts and is completely false.
EAnews urges the public to always follow EAnews and rely only on trustworthy news sources to avoid confusion and misinformation.
