The next federation to meet with the Aruban Olympic Committee (COA) regarding its strategic plan is the “Aruba Volleyball Association” (AVA). This meeting takes place within the framework of “Capacity Building Training” (CBT) part three, where work is done with each federation on an individual basis to help review the strategic planning aspect and how the COA can assist them in achieving their goals.
Regarding the sport of volleyball, it is noted that the federation recently elected a new board and worked on a strategic plan to develop the sport in different areas of interest, such as the technical aspect, management, and recruiting more volunteers to achieve more as a federation. The AVA announced that it has a broad athlete base of over 600 athletes across various member clubs, and wishes to organize more events such as competitions, as well as courses for coaches and referees to reach a larger community to execute planned projects. In addition, they are in the process of renewing their statutes to fully comply with all laws and regulations as an association.
