The library invites all children to participate in its Children’s Book Festival. The library has invited authors and illustrators to the festival from the Netherlands, Curaçao, Bonaire, and our very own local talents. A group will visit schools next week to tell stories, demonstrate how a book is illustrated, and present a world of adventure books. The local authors, storytellers, and illustrators for the 2025 festival are: Liliana Erasmus, Mary Ann Christiaans, Ariana Koolman, Esmeralda Tromp, Daylan Krozendijk, Emerita Emerencia, Lizette Winterdal, Giovanni de Windt & Melisa Robert for Aruba Excellence Foundation, and Irmgard Frans.
Children’s book author Liliana Braamskamp-Erasmus brings another adventure for children, together with her fellow illustrator Danielle Schothorst. The title of the book is ‘Zap! Zap! Zzziennng!’. The production is by the library and Levendig Uitgever. This is a book for all children in Aruba, in two languages, Dutch and Papiamento, and it is available in bookstores. Every bookstore customer will receive this book for free with a purchase of 25 florin, while supplies last.
For children who do not get an author’s visit at school, there will be a special presentation at 3:00 PM in the library.
