In recent weeks, several developments have taken place regarding U.S. military operations in the Caribbean. The U.S. Navy has intercepted multiple vessels suspected of transporting drugs. The United States has also announced that additional ships and equipment will be stationed in the region. These events have understandably raised ongoing concerns among the residents of Bonaire.

The Island Governor of Bonaire, Mr. John Soliano, acknowledges these concerns and wishes to inform residents that there is continuous communication with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence regarding developments that are relevant to Bonaire.

In light of the increasing geopolitical tensions between the United States and Venezuela, the Island Governor, together with the Kingdom Government, is closely monitoring the situation and assessing any potential consequences for Bonaire. Protecting the interests of all residents remains the Governor’s ongoing priority. Further updates will be shared as soon as new information becomes available.
