Arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol

On Saturday, December 6, around 3:40 a.m., a 37-year-old man with the initials R.C.G. was arrested on Kaya Nikiboko Noord after a patrol stopped him for a traffic check because he was riding a moped without a helmet. During the check, it turned out that the suspect had his helmet hanging on the handlebar of the moped. The suspect could not present a valid driver’s license nor proof of insurance for the moped, for which he was given a fine. He was also warned that he was not allowed to drive on public roads and had to go home on foot.

About half an hour later, the patrol encountered the same suspect again on his moped. He was also showing signs of being under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test was conducted, which came back positive. As a result of the positive test, the suspect was arrested, and he was again issued a fine for driving without a valid driver’s license and insurance.

On the same day, around 2:25 p.m., a 56-year-old woman with the initials I.P.P. was arrested on Kaya Saturnus after she was seen swerving on the road and the patrol signaled her to stop for a check. She showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test was conducted and returned positive.

On Monday, December 8, around 1:15 a.m., a patrol found a driver speeding and swerving on Kaya Korona and signaled him to stop for a check. During the inspection, the driver could not show a valid driver’s license or proof of insurance, for which he received a fine. He was also showing signs of being under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test was conducted and returned positive. The 31-year-old man with the initials W.A.R.B. was arrested.
