Enter the Academic World with Hope and Vision: University of Aruba opens enrollment for master in governance & leadership (MGL)

Universidad Di Aruba

The University of Aruba (UA) extends a cordial and inspiring invitation to all professionals aspiring to elevate their careers and contribute to the progress of our community. Now is the time to enter the academic world with confidence in your own potential, as enrollment for the Master in Governance & Leadership (MGL) program, including the Pre-Master Pathway, is officially open.

In an era where organizations in the Dutch Caribbean face high demands for efficiency, accountability, and innovation, there is an urgent need for skilled leaders capable of navigating complex environments. The MGL program responds directly to this need, offering advanced education in governance and leadership within the specific context of Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Designed for the Visionary Professional The program is specifically structured for working professionals, allowing them to advance their careers while developing academically. With a flexible “block” format and classes held primarily on Saturdays, students can maintain a healthy balance between studies, work, and personal life.

For those who do not yet fully meet the entry requirements for the Master’s, the UA offers an accessible Pre-Master Pathway. This 30 EC modular program provides the necessary foundation in governance, research, and academic English, preparing students for a successful transition to the Master’s level.

Program Details and Requirements The Master in Governance & Leadership is a two-year (60 EC) trajectory that combines academic rigor with practical application. Students will gain in-depth knowledge of public and private management, decision-making, and organizational change.

Application Criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in governance, public administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience (minimum 1 year; 3+ years preferred).
  • Proficiency in English (minimum TOEFL iBT score of 90, with exceptions for degrees obtained from English-taught programs).
  • Analytical and reflective skills, which will be assessed during an intake interview.

Invest in Your Future This program fosters collaboration between the public sector, private sector, and civil society, strengthening leadership capacity in Aruba and the wider Caribbean region.
