Following the announcement of the TEAMARU delegation that will participate in the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, an information session was organized last Thursday for everyone who will represent Aruba. During this session, Olympic values were discussed, and various historical stories were shared where these values were illustrated. Additionally, the topic of anti-doping was covered, explaining several important aspects such as the control procedure.
For the Olympic Values session, the Secretary General of the Aruban Olympic Committee, Mrs. Nicole Hoevertsz, spoke and highlighted the importance of these values and how they are applied in the Olympic world. The session was conducted in a dynamic manner, fostering a dialogue with the athletes present and providing historical examples where these values were applied. The team found the session very interesting and committed to applying these values in their daily lives.
For the anti-doping portion, the President of ARUNADO, Mr. Patrick Werleman, and Doping Control Officer (DCO) Mrs. Angelique Koolman gave an extensive presentation explaining all the different processes related to anti-doping, through a game in which the entire team participated. Using a game method made the session more enjoyable and resulted in better participation from everyone present.
At the end of the session, the delegation was wished every success in representing Aruba through the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship, and Respect.
