The Aruba Ports Authority (APA) has joined forces with the Government of Aruba to support the “Day to Care for Aruba” (Dia pa Cuida Aruba), which will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026. During a press event at the Harbour Arena, Prime Minister Mike Eman, Minister of Tourism, Transport and Labor Wendrick Cicilia, and APA CEO Marc Figaroa announced APA’s participation in the national cleanup campaign.
As part of the initiative, eight dumpsters will be installed at the Harbour Arena to provide residents of Playa and surrounding neighborhoods the opportunity to dispose of waste. This location is one of a total of 26 sites across Aruba where dumpsters will be placed to offer support to the community during the cleanup day.
Prime Minister Mike Eman emphasized that the “Day to Care for Aruba” is based on collaboration between the government, state-owned companies, the private sector, various foundations, associations, neighborhood centers, and volunteers. The goal is not just to clean Aruba for one day, but also to stimulate a change in mindset and strengthen the shared responsibility to keep our island clean.
Minister Wendrick Cicilia highlighted that keeping Aruba clean is directly related to the quality of life of our community and the quality of our tourism product. Aruba is internationally known as a clean, pleasant, and well-maintained destination. Clean public spaces and infrastructure are important for both our own residents and the visitors who enjoy our island. According to Minister Cicilia, the campaign provides an opportunity to reclaim the values that have always characterized Aruba: love for the country, volunteerism, responsibility, and collaboration. A clean Aruba contributes to a harmonious environment and a more attractive destination for tourists and locals alike.
Marc Figaroa highlighted the participation of the Aruba Ports Authority, demonstrating the broad support the “Day to Care for Aruba” is receiving. APA will provide the eight dumpsters at the Harbour Arena and will contribute coordination and logistical support to ensure the activity runs smoothly.
The Government of Aruba and APA invite all citizens, businesses, foundations, associations, and volunteer groups to be part of the national action on July 25. An Aruba that is great to live in and great to visit is the responsibility of us all.
