During the second quarter of 2026, from January to June, 304,308 Visa cardholders from 136 different countries spent a total of USD 184.9 million in Aruba. This data shows that international visitors continue to significantly contribute to the local economy through their spending across various service and retail sectors. This study analyzes spending in Aruba by guests using foreign-issued Visa cards, based on verified transactions recorded within the Visa network.

The results indicate that restaurants and food establishments registered the largest share of spending, totaling USD 56.7 million. The accommodation sector followed with USD 44 million, while Retail registered USD 39.3 million. Additionally, guests contributed to sectors such as supermarkets, transportation, and entertainment. These data confirm that visitor spending is not concentrated in a single sector, but rather generates economic activity for various types of businesses and services in Aruba.

STATISTICS ACCORDING TO TOURISM INDUSTRY UPDATES

STAYOVER, NIGHTS, AND MARKET SHARE

In the month of July 2026, Aruba welcomed a total of 160,858 stayover visitors and registered a total of 1,073,422 visitor nights, with an Average Length of Stay (ALOS) of 6.7 nights. This result confirms a positive performance for the tourism industry during the month of July.

Market distribution during July showed that North America remained the primary market, accounting to 72.1% of all arrivals. South America contributed 21.6%, Europe 4.2%, while other regions represented 2.1% of total visitors. The United States is the largest individual market for the month of July with 111,236 visitors, while Argentina registered 16,905 visitors for July. The Netherlands leads the European market with 3,626 visitors.

SHORT-TERM VACATION RENTALS (STVR)

A.T.A. continues to monitor the Short-Term Vacation Rentals (STVR) sector through the Lighthouse platform. For July 2026, the average occupancy level registered at 62%, reflecting continuous demand for this type of accommodation among guests. The Average Daily Rate (ADR) for the month was USD 384. Furthermore, the sector generated a total revenue of approximately USD 36.7 million during July 2026.
