The Veterinary Service reminds everyone that anyone wishing to slaughter a goat, cow, or pig for consumption must do so at the Abattoir.
Slaughtering animals at home is illegal and poses health risks to the public.

Anyone wishing to use the Abattoir’s services to slaughter an animal during November and December 2025 may do so from Monday through Thursday in the morning hours, starting Monday, November 10th, until Thursday, December 18th, 2025.
The Abattoir will reopen for operations on Tuesday, January 13th, 2026.

It is also announced that animal slaughtering at the Abattoir is done by appointment only.
Owners wishing to slaughter one or more animals for consumption must call in advance to confirm their intention and coordinate the process in an organized manner.
To make an appointment, contact the Veterinary Service at 5224310 or 5224320, or visit in person at Barcadera 1.

Please ensure animals are brought at the exact time of the scheduled appointment.
If you fail to show up on time, a new appointment will need to be made.
Without an appointment, no service will be provided.

On the same day as the slaughter, the meat must be collected after payment at the administration office, as the Abattoir does not offer meat storage services and is not responsible for uncollected meat.

Please note that the last slaughter day will be Thursday, December 18th, 2025, with limited capacity.
Therefore, do not wait until the last moment—make your appointment in advance.

Let’s cooperate to ensure the Abattoir’s operations proceed smoothly and efficiently, allowing everyone to enjoy a pleasant and peaceful end of the year.
