Dutch Government Urges Nationals in Venezuela to Register for Assistance

ORANJESTAD ARUBA — January 3, 2026

The government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands has issued an urgent call to all persons holding Dutch nationality who are currently in Venezuela to register with the Information Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to facilitate any assistance that may be required.

Aruban Prime Minister Mike Eman provided further details during a press conference, outlining the contacts being maintained with various relevant government departments in connection with the situation in Venezuela.

According to the information released, following the military operation in which U.S. forces entered Venezuela and detained Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, an emergency consultation took place between Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof and Prime Minister Mike Eman. King Willem-Alexander has also expressed concern over the recent developments.

At the same time, Prime Minister Eman issued an official statement indicating that the Kingdom of the Netherlands is deeply concerned about the safety of its nationals currently in Venezuela.

All Dutch nationals — including residents of Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, and the Netherlands — who are presently in Venezuela are strongly urged to register via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Information Service at:

This registration is intended to enable rapid contact and the provision of consular assistance should the situation require it.
