Participation in the various workshops during Culture Week will be completely free. Culture Week will feature not only lectures and education, but also the presence of key figures in the folklore world from the sister islands. According to Ferdinand Franca, Artistic Leader of the Foundation for the Safeguarding of Aruba’s Cultural Heritage, these guests include Mr. Cesarrio from San Luis, a highly skilled expert in Curaçaoan folklore and dance, who will also deliver a lecture.
Additionally, the event will feature experts such as Mr. René Rosalia and Mr. Segni Bernardina from Bonaire, who will contribute to all aspects of artistic and cultural education. One of the surprise highlights of the week is the Harmonia y Gozo dance group, under the direction of Mr. Erno and Mrs. Nilva Cordelia, who will bring a heritage dance performance.
Anyone who is proud of their folklore, art, and culture is invited to register and participate in the lectures and workshops. One of the project’s primary goals is the “train the trainers” concept, ensuring that participants can continue training others in the neighborhoods after Culture Week, keeping folklore and culture alive for the next generation.
