Special recognition for the trajectory of four pillars of photography and journalism in Aruba. The historic and annual photography exhibition known as “Lens di mi Wowonan” will take place tomorrow, September 1st, opening at 7:00 a.m. at the National Library in Playa. The event will remain open to the public until September 30th, during regular library service hours.
Everyone, and naturally members of the press, is invited to visit the exhibition, encouraging readers and audiences to accompany and help highlight the extraordinary work on display.
Recognition of Four Professional Pillars This year, the exhibition is proud to recognize four individuals whose professional trajectory represents the spirit of the exhibition:
• Mr. Erik Buldak: Was awarded the Gispy Franken prize. He has dedicated himself to photography in the Netherlands and developed a prominent career as an independent photographer, including 10 years at The News. He has been active in his profession and his lasting contribution to Aruban photography is honored.
• Mr. Ury Feliciana: Received the Victor Winklaar award. Ury began his journalism career at Bon Dia Aruba and developed a broad career across media outlets as a journalist, photographer, video editor, and graphic designer, working at TeleAruba and currently at Más Noticia.
• Michelangelo Arrens: Received a special award and recognition. He is a photographer with over 10 years of experience specializing in underwater photography and creative projects, who also generously and voluntarily offers his talent for cultural events throughout Aruba and is participating in the exhibition for the 5th consecutive year.
• Noël Werleman: Independent photographer and videographer who has covered national and international events for many years, collaborating with TeleAruba and the Aruban Olympic Committee, contributing to the promotion of Aruban sports and our island to the world.
