M21 congratulates all women on International Women’s Day

Womens Day

In a statement, Mr. Carlos López Natera, on behalf of Movement 21 (M21), congratulated all women on their special day.

Mr. López Natera said:
“Cordially, we express our most sincere congratulations to all women on their day, especially to the women of Bonaire. Bonairian women form a fundamental pillar of our community. Through their work, their wisdom, their love for family, and their commitment to our community, they contribute every day to building a stronger, fairer, and more supportive Bonaire. At home, at work, in business, in education, and in leadership, our women clearly show that without them there can be no real progress for our island.”

Struggle for greater participation of women

Continuing, Mr. Carlos López Natera emphasized that we must also recognize that real challenges still exist:

“At this moment many women still face inequality in opportunities, in leadership positions, and in participation when important decisions for our community are made. A modern and just society cannot allow the talent, intelligence, and capacity of our women to remain limited. For M21, the struggle for more respect, more opportunities, and greater representation for women is not just a symbolic issue for one single day, but a social and political priority. We firmly believe that Bonaire must guarantee real space for women’s participation.”

Bonaire needs women to progress

López Natera concluded with the following message:

“From M21 we express our deep gratitude for everything our women do for our community, and we reaffirm our commitment to work for a society where equality of opportunity is a reality and not just an aspiration. On International Women’s Day we send a clear message: Bonaire needs the strength, the vision, and the leadership of its women in order to continue progressing. Happy International Women’s Day!”
