After the first two editions of the “Capacity Building Training” course, the third (3rd) part has begun, where meetings are held with each member federation of the Aruban Olympic Committee (COA) on an individual basis to see how each federation can be helped with its organizational challenges. The first federation to undergo this process is the Aruba Triathlon Association (ATA), where the board members met to discuss everything related to triathlon.
During the meeting, various areas of interest for development were identified, such as improving the organization’s structure to identify more sports leaders who can contribute to the sport. Additionally, there was a discussion on updating the statutes to comply with all local laws and regulations, as well as those of the international federation. Finally, the most important areas to work on were noted, and an expert will be appointed to help guide the federation with the necessary changes to achieve the goal of improving the various management aspects they desire.
The COA thanks the ATA board for their willingness to work on improving the structure of the triathlon federation, thereby raising the level of sport in Aruba.
