Eduard Pieters, leader of the PPA parliamentary faction, has expressed concern over the direction of Aruban politics.
Pieters noted that while politicians often claim to follow a new political approach, in practice they continue to operate according to old patterns. “It is unfortunate and regrettable that the people of Aruba are experiencing this under the AVP-FUTURO government. They call it a ‘new political era,’ yet Aruba’s autonomy is being sold off in a materialistic way,” Pieters stated.
He warned that this trend reflects a broader shift in political culture, where material interests have overtaken idealistic principles, even among the new generation of politicians.
