Primary Sector has officially opened a public tender for four service contracts designed to assist the Department of Agriculture, Husbandry, and Fisheries (DLVV) “Santa Rosa.” This will enable the department to provide faster services and perform necessary renovation and maintenance work across various sections of the department. This ensures the necessary support for all farmers, livestock breeders, and other clients of Santa Rosa active in Aruba’s Primary Sector.

The contracts will have a duration of 36 months, and the work will be coordinated by Santa Rosa’s management and regularly evaluated with the Ministry of the Primary Sector to ensure high-quality execution.

This public tender is another step in the AVP-Futuro Cabinet’s plan to strengthen Aruba’s Primary Sector. With these four contracts, Santa Rosa will have greater capacity to respond to the service needs of the agricultural community and continue providing the support that farmers and breeders know and value.

The four contracts cover various tasks that Santa Rosa performs regularly. Regarding improvements at the department itself, work will include building and infrastructure maintenance, plumbing, basic electricity, welding, and installation of irrigation systems in planting areas, among others. There will also be work related to daily animal care, land preparation, heavy equipment operations, water and fertilizer transport, dam maintenance, pest control, harvesting, and other agricultural tasks to improve the department’s sections and alleviate current pressures. Crews will work both on Santa Rosa’s premises and on external plots to perform services offered to clients.

This means Santa Rosa will benefit from a necessary upgrade to its existing infrastructure, which is in dire need of renovation. Examples of urgent tasks include welding broken fences, stable maintenance, and using heavy machinery on fields that need to be prepared for planting. Santa Rosa will receive the necessary upgrades through the services of these contractors.

An important point to note is that many services provided by Santa Rosa are subsidized by the Government, allowing farmers and breeders to receive professional support at an affordable price. By expanding Santa Rosa’s capacity, the Government is investing directly in our local producers to establish a stronger and better-equipped Primary Sector.

Minister Geoffrey Wever indicated that the main goal is to continue improving the service Santa Rosa provides to the community. “We want farmers and breeders to receive the help and support they deserve, when they need it. These contractors will give Santa Rosa more capacity to handle requests and continue providing the services our local producers rely on to continue working and producing. Investing in Santa Rosa is investing in our food security, our economy, and the future of Aruba.”

Companies with the experience and capacity to perform one or more of the tasks can participate in the tender. They may apply for one, several, or all four contracts, depending on their expertise. The complete document with participation conditions can be downloaded starting July 8, 2026, at the following link: https://bit.ly/4piVtco. Questions can be submitted until July 22, 2026, and bids must be delivered no later than August 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Santa Rosa office at Piedra Plat 114-A.
