On Tuesday morning, during a press moment, the opportunity was taken to invite the community to the Baki den Bario cleanup action. Maikel Gomez, spokesperson for BCI, was the first to speak to inform the public about the location where the action will take place this Saturday.

Centro di Bario Ayo will be the designated location this time, where all preparations will be made and containers will be placed so the community can deposit their waste free of charge. As usual, the event will be held on a Saturday, early in the morning, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Information was also shared on the indicated route: via Sero Pita, turning right, which leads to Centro di Bario Ayo. Regarding permitted waste types, Gomez explained that the same rules apply as always: residential and commercial waste will be accepted. Scrap metal and oil are also among the types of waste that may be brought during the Baki den Bario event.

Miguel Wever, coordinator of Baki den Bario for the Prime Minister, also spoke during the press conference. He stated that the cleanup action has been a great success across the island. Numerous requests are being received to organize the event in specific areas, and efforts are coordinated each time to reach as many neighborhoods as possible.

All preparations for this Saturday at Centro di Bario Ayo have begun. Logistics are always an important part of the event and are managed by DOW. A large space is required, along with good coordination of vehicle entry and exit, as well as clear instructions for where each type of waste should be placed. Bureau City Inspector is always thanked for leading the action and for the excellent work they deliver.

The need for waste disposal remains high. It was noted that during one edition the vehicle flow decreased somewhat, but most Baki den Bario events see large numbers, often increasing as the year-end holiday season approaches. Each event typically involves around 400 vehicles or more.

To conclude, Jaclyn Agunbero, coordinator of Accion den Bario for the Prime Minister, also spoke. In addition to the cleanup action, there is also the initiative in which the Prime Minister, along with various agencies and departments, enters the neighborhood to listen to residents and gain direct insight into the most urgent needs of each area.

This time, the neighborhood of Pos Chikito will be visited, where residents will be met together with the departments responsible for cleaning and maintenance, to make a maximum effort to collect waste and support the upkeep of the neighborhood.

The public is thanked for their warm reception of both Baki den Bario and Accion den Bario, recognizing the strong support received in each neighborhood. The community continues to do its part to keep their neighborhoods and Aruba clean and supports every action aimed at achieving this.
