The leader of the PPA faction, Eduard Pieters, stated after the meeting about Aruba’s 2019 annual accounts that he voted in favor of the annual report. Pieters indicated that once again the meeting was long and intensive, but important.
However, the PPA is proud of our people, especially our professionals who worked on these annual accounts, making it possible for Aruba to meet its reporting obligations. In addition, the PPA faction is against granting an exception for a single CEO simply because he comes from the Royal Schiphol Group in the Netherlands. This is unacceptable and feels like a slap in the face to our own people living in Aruba who pay taxes, as well as to all other Aruban CEOs of the various state-owned companies. According to them, it is evident that the AVP–FUTURO government is weak and does not stand up for its people, for Aruba as it should.
