In Aruba, the infrastructure problem is more a political problem than a capacity problem

Rene Herde

Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Telecommunications, Rene Herde, explains that his ministry will work to build more homes so that all children receive the housing and safety they deserve. The situation he encountered when he assumed his responsibilities showed an unacceptable state of infrastructure. The visit to the Netherlands is solely to observe how efficiently the Netherlands manages to build housing for its citizens, so Aruba can obtain the necessary knowledge to develop various types of housing on the island. Currently, there are more than 4,000 people with requests for land to build a home.
