The Parliament of Aruba must handle two budgets for the Country of Aruba, but is not yet prepared for this. Member of Parliament Evelyn Wever-Croes states that the government is in a tight spot and it is clear that they are not well prepared, and that they are very late with the treatment of the budgets. It is unfortunate that when the supplementary budget for 2025 arrived at parliament, there was an attempt to immediately schedule a meeting on Thursday, putting pressure on parliament. The documents had just been received and could not possibly be studied in one day in order to discuss the 2025 budget. The vice president of parliament also asked that no questions be asked — an undemocratic modus operandi taking place within Aruba’s parliament, in this case by the vice president of parliament, Munzaninne Wever of the FUTURO faction.
