On Monday, May 25, 2026, at approximately 7:53 AM, the police central dispatch was notified of an incident in Calabas where an elderly lady was found showing no signs of life.
A police patrol as well as an ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
Upon the police’s arrival, they encountered the son, who in turn informed the officers that his mother was showing no signs of life.
The ambulance arrived at the scene and made every possible effort, but there was nothing more they could do for the lady.
Dr. Texier arrived and confirmed the death of the lady, identified by the initials C.R. Piñero, 73 years old and born in Venezuela.
Detectives, the forensic police (BFTO), and a forensic doctor arrived to conduct an investigation to rule out whether a criminal act had occurred.
A short while later, the ambulance was requested to return to the scene for the son, and he was transported by ambulance to receive medical treatment.
Detectives from Noord, together with the forensic police and the forensic doctor, continued the investigation, which revealed indications that the death of Mrs. Piñero was not of natural causes.
Given the serious nature of this case, Detectives arrested the son, E.E.B.P., 44 years old and born in Venezuela, in connection with the case in question.
The Aruba Police Force extends its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
