Rotaract Club of Aruba celebrated 35 years of its Back2School initiative, a project dedicated to helping children and families during the back-to-school season. The initiative reflects the character of the Aruban community: when we unite, we can make a significant difference in the lives of our children.
In 2026, Rotaract’s Back2School Project provided support to 52 children who were preparing to start the new school year. Of this total, 16 children were fully sponsored by the Rotaract Club of Aruba. The club covered the children’s essential expenses such as school fees, air conditioning costs, backpacks filled with school supplies, uniforms, and sneakers. The remaining children received new backpacks with the necessary items to start the school year.
The success of this initiative is thanks to the generosity of members of our community who chose to give back while doing their back-to-school shopping. During the collection campaign, the community had two ways to give back: buying school supplies directly or making a financial donation to support the initiative. For three consecutive Saturdays, members of the Rotaract Club of Aruba were present at Dyon Center to collect donations and meet with community members. Every backpack, school supply, and contribution represented a collective investment in the education of Aruba’s children.
As part of its commitment to the community, the initiative also made donations to Fundacion Pa Nos Comunidad and the Orthopedagogisch Centrum Aruba.

The Back2School initiative gives children the opportunity to start the school year prepared and with the support they need. For 35 years, the Rotaract Club of Aruba has continued to demonstrate the value of serving the community and giving back. The 2026 results confirm that every act of generosity, no matter how small, can make a big difference.
