PPA parliamentary group leader Eduard Pieters is extremely pleased with the presentation by Mrs. Suzette Dumfries as a nation builder. The presentation was delivered to the entire community in San Nicolas at the Teresa Center. Mrs. Dumfries was promptly invited and also reached out to other agencies to recommend and ensure that the results of her work and research are taken into account, as they are very important for the development of Aruba and San Nicolas in particular.
The PPA faction held a meeting together with several party members to follow this presentation, which is undoubtedly important for the present and future of the country of Aruba. PPA received information about history and past anthropological development, as well as current happenings. Additionally, upcoming efforts will look at how we can develop the country of Aruba, reinforcing not only our single economic pillar—tourism—but more importantly human development, which is vital for a society, a community, and specifically for an island like Aruba, where we depend on our people, because our people need it, and our people must definitely be placed at the center.
The PPA faction leader indicated that the presentation was very good. Different components were also highlighted that must be taken into account when speaking about country building and nation building.
The PPA faction believes that social infrastructure, as an important principle along with key organizations, plays a vital role, and human development is also extremely important. We must look at how important education and teaching are. If we can incorporate identity into our educational institutions—to honor, safeguard, and be proud of our identity and culture—it is something extremely important for nation building, for constructing our nation known as the country of Aruba.
