The ACE Foundation, together with the Curaçaoan artist Alvin “Tio Ali” Inecia, looks back on an inspiring educational week on Bonaire. Between November 10 and 14, more than 800 children from primary schools and daycare centers enjoyed his interactive performances full of music, poems, and stories. Together with ACE Foundation, Tio Ali also contributed to the 2025 Children’s Book Week.
In addition to performances for children, Tio Ali also provided workshops for Pedagogical Worker students at the SGB and led a teambuilding session at a daycare center. The children’s reactions made a great impression on him. The students of Kolegio Emmy Schermer stood out to him the most.
“They were amazing and inspired me,” says Inecia. “I was told the group could be challenging, but I didn’t notice that at all. On the contrary. One student created a rhyme on the spot, and I accompanied it with music. A beautiful moment to experience.”
The highlight was on November 13, during the well-attended presentation of the story “Aventura ku Ritmo” at Creative World, an ode to his method. On this day, Tio Ali received a trophy with the words: “Danki Alvin ‘Tio Ali’ Inecia pa e bunita trabou di entretené pa eduka komunidat di Reino Hulandes. Boneiru 13 di novèmber 2025.” This was presented on behalf of the ACE Foundation.
According to Inecia, his approach is simple but effective:
“Entertainment and education together. Through joy and repetition, children learn better. That supports their development.”
ACE Foundation is proud of the results and hopes to welcome Tio Ali back to Bonaire.
