The Minister of Justice, mr. drs. Arthur Dowers, received the six-month report for 2026 from the Aruba Fair Trade Authority (AFTA). The report provides insight into the financial position and reporting of the authority during the period from January 1 through June 30, 2026.

An important aspect is that the interim financial figures were independently evaluated by Grant Thornton Aruba. According to the accountant, no findings emerged during this evaluation that give cause to conclude that the interim report, in material aspects, has not been prepared in accordance with the applicable standards.

Minister Dowers emphasized the importance of periodic reporting within the framework of transparency, accountability, and good governance. Institutions with a public responsibility must provide clarity regarding their functioning and financial management. Independent evaluation contributes to a careful and transparent way of working.

Minister Dowers expressed his appreciation for the work performed and for the presentation of the report. AFTA continues, from its independent position, to fulfill its legal responsibilities.

The six-month report of 2026 forms an important part of the periodic accountability and contributes to a transparent and responsible execution of AFTA’s public tasks.
