Bringing music and happiness the Freewinds hits the heart of the bario in Boka Sami. The Freewinds band, happy to be on stage in Curacao, rocked the house with a selection of Raggae, Blues, Rock and R&B that had the audience captured! The renown Sami Sail event took place at the beautiful Boka Sami after a distressing 3 years period which kept people inside their houses disconnected from their community. What a better way to celebrate life and the warmth of the people of Curacao than Sami Sail?

After 35 years of sailing in these waters the Freewinds humanitarian ship has become part of the Caribbean and after hundreds of concerts held for Curacao onboard the vessel the Freewinds band was honored to bring their music to the colorful and lively community of fishermen in Curacao.
The President of Sami Sail, Mr. Ernesto Bernardina, said: “I’m very happy with the participation of the Freewinds. They brought the flavor we wanted for the 50th anniversary of Sami Sail. Thanks to the Freewinds band for their music and love! My arms, my heart and the community of Boka Sami are completely open to the Freewinds! We are very thankful!”
In addition to having the Freewinds band perform Ms. Sahaira Bloem, the coordinator for the Sami Sail event, arranged with the Freewinds to supply the Way to Happiness booklets. The Way to Happiness: A common sense guide to better living. Together with her team she distributed more than 1,700 the Way to Happiness booklets to the people of Boka Sami, offering a path to happiness to this section of Curacao. “All of the people I gave the booklet to, young or old, were really happy to receive it. The happiness and the smiles that I got back from them are the reason why I like to give the booklet out myself. The Freewinds Band came in the heart of Boka Sami with their music and their booklets, I want to thank them and the Freewinds Band for making this event possible!”- said Ms. Bloem.
