The solo exhibition of interdisciplinary artist Velvet Zoe Ramos, titled INTERLASADO: PARALEL, will be on display from July 10 through July 31, 2026, at the exhibition gallery of the National Library of Aruba. The public is warmly invited to visit the exhibition during the library’s regular opening hours in Oranjestad.
Paralel is part of Interlasado, an ongoing artistic practice through which Ramos explores multiple disciplines, including performance art, video art, studio ceramics, printmaking, painting, food art, and filmmaking.
Curated by Irvin Aguilar, the exhibition features works created in clay, studio ceramics, painting, and video projection.
INTERLASADO: PARALEL invites visitors into Velvet’s imaginative world, where they will encounter elements inspired by nature, primates, and women, while also appreciating the craftsmanship of working with clay. Through the exhibition, Ramos challenges the colonial perception that ceramics are an inferior art form and instead seeks to place the medium on equal footing with other fine arts traditionally regarded as more “elevated” or “sacred.”
The public is cordially invited to the official opening on July 9, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., at the National Library of Aruba, George Madurostraat 13, Oranjestad.
