A tragic development shook the community this morning when authorities found James Wathey, unfortunately deceased, in a bush area near the FTA roundabout in San Nicolas.
According to preliminary information gathered by our newsroom, the body was discovered below the FTA roundabout, in a patch of bush along a dirt road on the right-hand side of the road. The location is approximately one kilometer from his home.
Sources close to the investigation indicated that, based on the initial forensic findings, it appears that James may have tripped over a tree stump. The body was found face down and without signs of life.
Authorities closed off the area to conduct the necessary investigation, while the forensic department continues its work to determine exactly what happened. At the time of publication, no further official details have been confirmed.
Police did not begin the search earlier because, according to police protocol, an official search is initiated only after a person has been missing for 48 hours. However, today an elderly man who had fallen in the bush lost his life.
