Live well with one another, and honor god

Pastor 1

When we live well with one another, especially in our family, in our home, we give honor to the Lord, because the Lord commands us to love one another. (Hebrews 12:14).

Materialism has caused people to love money more than God, and in the same breath, to love money more than people. We can see how much damage those thoughts are causing. Once people put God aside and lift the burden of the world onto their own heads, the consequences are harsh for them.

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened.” This does not only apply to adults, but to children as well, and to youth too, because the enemy does not respect age. That is why we as parents must guide our children in the way of God, because the devil is lurking, and sin is also lurking.

Not only must we educate our children with words and discipline, but our lives as parents must be a living example of what we tell them and teach them. This way, they do not only hear words, but they see actions in us as parents that honor God and express our love for them.

There are things we must take into account as parents, because the family bond is a delicate bond that can be wounded very easily, leaving a trauma along the way. We never know if what happened many years ago might bear negative fruit today because someone in the family was hurt—they saw, heard, or experienced something they cannot forget. Therefore, as parents, our lives must honor God.

Hebrews 13:4 says: Let marriage be honored by all, and let the marriage bed be kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

The consequences of adultery, abuse, divorce, etc., are not small. It is not just a temporary separation, but something that continues to have an effect on the family. When a marriage is broken, something holy and sacred of God has been violated, because marriage is between the man, the woman, and God. Therefore, one must not play games with marriage in any way, because there are consequences today and tomorrow.

Our children are a gift from God, the fruit of the womb is a reward (Psalm 127:3). They are here to be educated, loved, and guided on the right path, because that is our duty as parents, and it is a command from God (Psalm 128).

In Joshua 24:15 it is written: As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

Nowadays, even though times have become modern, let no one be afraid or ashamed to say that, because that is the reality of life. Where a home does not give honor to God and does not serve the Lord, that home lacks peace and tranquility.

Do not look at the size of your house, nor how luxuriously you live. It does not matter if you have a mansion, an apartment, or a shack; see to it that in your home the name of God is exalted in everything. Because a home that honors God, a family that honors God, lives under the protection of God, lives under the wing and shadow of the Most High, and their protection is there at all times, and there is safety.
