Prime Minister Dr. Luc Mercelina officially received the Dutch State Secretary for Kingdom Relations and Digitalization, Eric van der Burg, who arrived in St. Maarten on Tuesday, April 7. This marks his first official work visit to the islands of St. Maarten, Saba, and Statia.
After arriving and holding an introductory meeting with Prime Minister Mercelina, the State Secretary immediately continued his journey to Saba on Tuesday afternoon. His agenda includes a visit to Statia this coming Thursday before returning to St. Maarten on April 10.
Upon his return, Van der Burg is scheduled for an official introduction to the Council of Ministers and the Parliament of Sint Maarten.
Continuation to the ABC Islands After fulfilling his commitments in the Windward Islands (SSS), the State Secretary will depart for the second part of his operational trip. This will include official visits to Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao, where themes of cooperation and governance within the Kingdom will be discussed.
