As part of the island’s commemoration program of the slavery past, the Department of Culture, Arts and Literature (SKAL), in collaboration with Studio Pineda and Stichting Jong Bonaire, proudly presents the immersive installation Martis di Katalina Janga: di Ántes pa Awor.
This unique experience tells the story of Martis di Katalina Janga and invites visitors into a powerful visual and auditory journey that explores themes of identity, resistance, freedom, and the lasting impact of slavery on contemporary society.
Premiere for invited guests only
The official premiere of the installation will take place on Friday, July 25 at Jong Bonaire, and is open exclusively to invited guests.
Open to the public
From Sunday, July 27 through Thursday, July 31, the installation will be open to the general public. Visitors can register for one of the three available daily time slots:
●7:00 – 7:30 PM
●8:00 – 8:30 PM
●9:00 – 9:30 PM
Each session lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes and includes space for reflection and interaction. Attendance is limited to 20 people per session.
Registration and Reservations
Registration is required due to limited space and can be done through the Facebook and Instagram pages of Studio Pineda, or via the Facebook page of Sekshon di Kultura, Arte i Literatura.
Admission is free of charge.
