The “Safari” themed graduation for Rayo di Solo Preschool took place last week at the Theresita Center in San Nicolas. A total of 46 students received their official certificates from their class teachers. The teachers were Sherida (Class 1), Zuleima (Class 2), Dayene (Class 3), and Jessica (Class 4). Also present were teacher Kristel, Mr. Robert, and Tanchi Golin.
The MC for the event was Mr. Addonsito Croes, and the DJ was Mr. Robert Dijkhoff. The photographer was Kelly Mertosentono. Principal Ilse Mertosentono welcomed everyone and led the opening prayer of blessing.
After the national anthem “Aruba Dushi Tera” was played, all the children sang the Rayo di Solo school anthem. Under the guidance of teacher Ruth, a group of 8 children performed the waltz “Encantadora” by Rufo Wever. Teacher Griselda then presented the song “Wapa E” with a large group of students. Principal Ilse and her pupils performed a medley of children’s songs, followed by the song “Hand in Hand” by Koreana, performed with Papiamento lyrics titled “Man den Man,” written by Maybeline Arends-Croes.
This unique evening closed with a carnival theme, where all the children found their parents to dance with them. A large portion of the graduates will be moving on to Colegio Santa Filomena, Xander Bogaerts Primary School, Colegio Santa Theresita, and Sagrado Curason. Rayo di Solo has been in existence for 66 years, and for the last 8 years, it has been led by principal Ilse Mertosentono. We wish all the children success in their new schools.
