The Public Prosecution Service has demanded a 12-month suspended prison sentence with a probation period of two years against the two police officers involved in the fatal shooting that cost Ayden Lanoy his life.
According to the Prosecutor, both officers are considered guilty in the incident that led to the death of the 19-year-old young man. In addition to the suspended sentence, the Prosecutor also requested 180 hours of community service.
The case has caused great commotion within the Aruban community, where family members and acquaintances of the victim have been deeply affected. The incident has sparked significant public debate regarding the use of force and the responsibility of authorities.
The court’s final decision is expected in the next phase of the judicial process.
