Aruba has crowned its first monarchs of Carnival 72!

Aruba Ta Conoce Su Prome Monarcanan Di Carnaval 72

During a lively evening at the Dakota Community Center last Saturday, SMAC crowned Aruba’s Prince & Pancho for Carnival 72. The results of the Prince and Pancho elections were as follows:

* Children’s Category: Prince Ami, Kirenzley Petit, and Pancho Abo, Maison Gõtze, representing Dushi Carnival Group.
* Youth Category: Prince Ma, Landray Gomes, and Pancho Bisabo, Jeaven Lanting, representing TOB/Kiwanis Builders Club.
* Large Category: Prince Los, Shaundrik Ventura, and Pancho Eeeee, Jerwin Mercera, representing Dushi Carnival Group.
* Adult Category: Prince Lanta Para, Jairo Maduro, and Pancho Boso Por Sinta, Ivmar (Tyson) Croes, representing Hepa Society.

According to Darren van Ommeren, President of SMAC, the decision was made this year to hold the elections earlier because the Carnival season is shorter. Additionally, for SMAC and its organizing committees, children remain the top priority. This way, events involving children can take place during the weekends and not run late into the night.

This marks the fourth year under the leadership of Darren Van Ommeren that SMAC organizes the Prince and Pancho election completely free for the public, especially to encourage the community to participate and support all contestants in helping the activity grow.

“The support for this event is important because it is from this stage that we discover more comedians, MCs, and event hosts within our community,” expressed the President of SMAC.

SMAC congratulates all Prince and Pancho participants who contributed to Carnival 72, as well as the newly crowned monarchs.
