Aruba is preparing for another moment of cultural and creative pride: Aruban fashion designer Andrew Steba has been invited for the second time to present his work at Barranquilla Fashion Week (BFW), taking place November 19–23, 2025, in Colombia.

Steba will showcase 15 pieces from his collection “Mondi Mistico” on the international platform, while simultaneously preparing to expand the collection for his participation in Aruba Fashion Week 2025 this coming December, where he will present 24 pieces.

The BFW invitation followed the strong impression Steba made during the previous edition, where his work received significant recognition as an international designer. “When another country treats you with that level of admiration, you realize that your efforts are paying off,” Steba said, adding that the experience was both exciting and inspiring.

Andrew Steba’s design style can be described as classic with a modern touch, characterized by bold silhouettes, elegance, and refined theatrical expression. He is a designer who enjoys pushing boundaries in pattern and form, while always maintaining a feminine and sophisticated essence.

His new collection is inspired by Aruban nature, particularly the endemic cododo bird, as well as the island’s spiritual and cultural heritage. Steba researched the connection between the first Arawak inhabitants and nature, harmony, and ceremony, and incorporated this symbolism into prints, silhouettes, and stone-embroidered detailing.

The collection is divided into three parts: the first features animal prints, the second includes ready-to-wear pieces for men and women, and the third presents gala dresses with detailed embroidery reflecting ceremonial symbolism.

Unlike his previous participation, Steba is working this year with a creative team in Aruba and Bogotá, supporting him in couture, production, and coordination. He highlights that this allows him to elevate his work without compromising his identity. Additionally, Steba is undergoing a visual rebranding process.

The Andrew Steba Atelier team expresses its deep gratitude to UNOCA (Union of Aruban Cultural Organizations) for their trust and financial support of Steba’s creative vision. This support demonstrates faith in local talent and in the power of fashion as a cultural expression of Aruba.
