The Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector, Mr. Geoffrey Wever, as representative of the Land Aruba and sole shareholder of Free Zone Aruba N.V. (FZA), announces that Mr. Walter E. Mosher has been officially appointed as the new Director of FZA, effective 1 February 2026. This appointment represents a significant step in the institutional strengthening and operational modernization of an entity with a strategic role in Aruba’s economic diversification.

“I am extremely pleased that Mr. Walter Mosher has made himself available to lead Free Zone into this new era. I have full confidence in his professionalism and expertise. Mosher is an Aruban with extensive local and international experience and is highly prepared for this task. It is remarkable that an Aruban, who has lived abroad for many years, has returned to contribute to Aruba,” stated Minister Geoffrey Wever.

Mr. Mosher is an executive with a broad and multidisciplinary career in Aruba and Europe. He began as an economist at Banco Central di Aruba, held key positions at AIB Bank N.V., including Vice President of Corporate Finance, and served as Managing Director of Aruba Aloe, where he strengthened his leadership and operational skills.

After his professional experience in Aruba, Mr. Mosher furthered his international education with an Executive MBA from ESADE Business School, in addition to three master’s degrees in international business, economics, and digital business. His international experience includes senior roles at Ernst & Young in Dublin, leading projects and advising governments and private companies, and at ESB, the national energy company of Ireland, where he worked on the development and execution of renewable energy projects.

This combination of regulatory, banking, retail, infrastructure, and energy experience places Mr. Mosher in an exceptional position to contribute to the strengthening and sustainable growth of Free Zone Aruba N.V.

The appointment follows a rigorous selection process conducted by FZA’s Board of Commissioners and an external HR consultant. During the public solicitation, a group of promising candidates was evaluated, including professional consultations. After repeated evaluations and internal consultations with Minister Wever, the Board, and Mr. Mosher, full agreement was reached on all contractual terms.

Minister Wever expressed his appreciation to the Board for guiding FZA through this transitional period. The restructuring of FZA, including the implementation of a strategic roadmap and the installation of a new Board of Commissioners, has established the foundation for solid and transparent governance.

In his role as shareholder and responsible minister, Wever emphasized that the appointment of a new director is essential for continuing efforts to strengthen management, operationalize reforms, and prepare FZA for a more competitive role in the international market. According to Wever, Free Zone Aruba has the potential to become a driver of growth and innovation, particularly at a time when Aruba seeks to diversify its economic base sustainably.

The upcoming announcement of new FZA activities will open doors for companies and innovative projects in Aruba’s economic ecosystem.

Minister Wever concluded by expressing his deep gratitude to the Board of Commissioners, the FZA operational team, and all government bodies and technical consultants involved. The appointment of Mr. Mosher officially marks a new era for Free Zone Aruba.
