From August 18 to 31, 2026, Aruba will be fully dedicated to international shooting sports. IPSC Aruba and the Aruba Practical Shooters Club are organizing the prestigious IPSC Panamerican Handgun Championship 2026 during this period. Among the more than 550 participants are Bonairean shooters Stephen Salas and Ethuriel Nicolaas, competing under the flag of the IPSC-CUW Curaçao region.
The championship will take place at the “Canchi di Tiro David de la Fuente” shooting range in Aruba. Participants face a grueling and challenging competition featuring no fewer than 24 different stages. A minimum of 436 shots are required to successfully complete the entire course. It is a discipline where speed, accuracy, technique, and mental focus constantly come together.

The sheer scale of the championship makes this edition extra special. More than 550 top shooters from dozens of countries are traveling to Aruba to compete for the Pan-American titles. For Bonaire, this international event takes on a special significance due to the participation of Stephen Salas and Ethuriel Nicolaas. Although they compete for the overarching IPSC-CUW Curaçao region, both shooters live and train in Bonaire. In daily life, they work in professional services, but in their free time, they practice dynamic shooting sports at a high level.
During the 24 stages, they will go head-to-head with the world’s best.
