Doing good to others pleases GOD

Pastor Marcel Balootje

There is nothing sweeter, nothing more beautiful than when we treat others well, because that means we respect God’s creation. It does not matter the race or color — every person deserves to be treated well, respected, and to feel that they matter.

Respect toward others shows good upbringing, positivity, love, it nurtures friendship, and it shows that God lives in our hearts.
God has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us, because He loves us.
Do not stop doing good and sharing with others, for such sacrifices please God. (Hebrews 13:16)

Then the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying:
“Thus says the Lord of Hosts:
Administer true justice, show love and compassion to one another.
Do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the foreigner, or the poor,
and do not plan evil in your hearts against each other.”

If this world had no injustice, evil, war, corruption, guerrillas, drugs, terrorism, unfair competition, doubtful politics, disastrous governance, dictatorship, communism and people without conscience enriching themselves on the backs of others — then everywhere there would be food and clothing for everyone.

For much harvest is thrown away to keep market prices stable, while in other countries people die of hunger and thirst, and yet nothing is given to them.
There we see how far greed and hardness of heart can reach.
Every time we do good to another, we are doing it unto God. (Matthew 25:34–40)

“Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32)

“He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his good deed.” (Proverbs 19:17)

Therefore, as long as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of faith. (Galatians 6:10)

It is an honor to serve people, an honor to help, an honor to comfort others in their pain and need. For God’s Word commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

We are all called to do good works — not only for a season, but at all times — for God’s Word says:
“We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)

“Be of one mind, compassionate, love one another as brothers, be merciful and humble in spirit. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but give a blessing instead. For to this you were called, so that you may inherit a blessing.” (1 Peter 3:8–9)

“The generous person will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.” (Proverbs 22:9)

But whoever has the world’s goods, sees his brother in need, and shuts his heart against him — how can the love of God remain in him?
“Little children, let us not love with word or tongue, but in action and in truth.”
By this we shall know that we are of the truth, and it shall assure our hearts before Him. (1 John 3:17–19)
