As part of this honor, the recipient is granted one year of mentorship with a professional of their choice.

About Shedimara Philips
At 33 years old, Shedimara Philips is a driven and ambitious entrepreneur. Born in Curaçao, she moved to the Netherlands at the age of six, later returning to her homeland at 21. While she initially pursued studies to become an aesthetician, her passion for hands-on experience led her to a “work and learn” hospitality program, where she refined her skills in service, hygiene, entrepreneurship, and leadership, ultimately graduating as a horeca manager.

In 2019, Shedimara launched her own wellness business, dedicated to offering professional care while empowering others, particularly young people and women. Her commitment to mentorship is evident; one of her former team members now successfully runs her own massage business, a testament to Shedimara’s influence.

Today, she remains focused on expanding her enterprise, creating employment opportunities, and guiding aspiring entrepreneurs in the wellness industry. Her mission is to help others transform their passion into a profession, fostering success within her community.

Shedimara Philips was awarded the Margaret Star for her vision, innovative approach, and unwavering drive for success. Her leadership and mentorship continue to inspire the next generation of ambitious entrepreneurs, reinforcing her role as a catalyst for growth and progress in Curaçao and beyond.
