On Monday morning, Minister Wendrick Cicilia, together with Minister Rene “Baba” Herde and DOW experts, announced a beautiful and important project to continue strengthening Aruba’s tourism product. The final phase of the efforts to beautify Eagle Beach will start soon. Before the project begins, the bidding process will take place.
“Today we came together to see the different works that need to be executed and also see the needs to strengthen our tourism product,” Minister Cicilia expressed. The minister continued by saying: “Something that makes Aruba stand out from other destinations is a modern and pleasant infrastructure that also creates order.”
Our white sand In the final phase of beautification, a functional role can also be seen. Often, motor vehicles park on our white sand, which can cause disturbance and damage to one of our most important natural economic resources. If we look closely, what makes Aruba attractive is our white sand and our sea, internationally recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world.
Conserve and protect The Minister of Tourism, Mr. Wendrick Cicilia, together with the Minister of Infrastructure, Rene Herde, and DOW, have the task of conserving and protecting them. With this new project, there will be a ‘Turtle Wall’ that will prevent motor vehicles from parking on the white sand. In addition, there will be parking space as well as restrooms, and this area of Eagle Beach will be beautified. It is an investment of approximately 5 million florins.
Care for it and improve it For his part, Minister Rene “Baba” Herde stated that our natural resources are one of the reasons why tourists choose to come to Aruba; that is our economy and we must care for it and improve it. Minister Wendrick Cicilia’s plans have the support of Minister Herde. DOW experts have drawn maps and designed, while also taking into account the needs in the area such as parking space and pedestrian pathways, thus ensuring the sea remains protected. The project is part of the AVP-FUTURO Cabinet’s efforts to ensure our economic infrastructure serves our entire country. At the same time, we must ensure the maintenance of what we create. Part of the maintenance is cleanliness; this coming Saturday, “Ban Cuida Aruba” will begin under the leadership of Prime Minister Mike Eman to ensure that all areas around Aruba remain clean.
