The leader of the MEP faction, Evelyn Wever-Croes, expressed her concern during her speech in Parliament, where she indicated that, although for many people the completion of the government formation process may seem like a reason to celebrate, the reality shows a completely different picture.
According to Wever-Croes, during the long eight months in which the government was being formed, what predominated was not joy or optimism, but rather “long faces,” an atmosphere she described as being more like a wake than a celebration.
The parliamentarian also lamented the negative opinion of the Raad van Advies that was issued regarding the LIM law. Despite the Government of Aruba having received a dictum 4, according to Wever-Croes, the cabinet did not make any adjustments to the ministerial portfolios, which caused further concern in Parliament.
Wever-Croes concluded her speech by emphasizing that the current situation requires greater responsibility and transparency from the government in order to restore confidence and stability in the governance of Aruba.
