During the week celebrating 23 years since our language, Papiamento, was made official in 2003, Filomena College MAVO in San Nicolas held a photoshoot among its staff, teachers, and students.

Thanks to DCA, which released several flyers featuring the word Papiamento. Among other things, the flyers included the phrase “we love Papiamento” on them.

At Filomena College MAVO, the subject teacher is Mariela Carrion, who daily instills a love for our language in all the students.

Filomena College MAVO continues to motivate local authors to keep writing and publishing everything within their reach that benefits our language. “Love our language, because if you master your language, you can master all subjects and life lessons.”
