Cas di Cultura Launches Open Stage for Local Performing Artists

Open Stage

As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening Aruba’s cultural landscape and supporting local artistic talent, Cas di Cultura is proud to introduce Open Stage, a new initiative that provides performance artists with the opportunity to develop and present original productions in a professional setting.

Open Stage reflects Cas di Cultura’s mission to nurture art, culture, heritage, and Aruba’s cultural identity by creating more opportunities for local creatives to take the stage. Whether they are musicians, theater makers, dancers, stand-up comedians, or multidisciplinary performers, artists are invited to transform their ideas into live performances while benefiting from the guidance and support of the island’s national cultural institution.

The initiative was created to encourage artistic experimentation, creative freedom, and collaboration. By lowering many of the practical barriers that often accompany live productions, Open Stage gives artists greater confidence to explore new concepts, showcase emerging work, and connect with audiences in meaningful ways. At the same time, it contributes to a richer and more diverse calendar of locally produced performances for the Aruban community.
Through Open Stage, Cas di Cultura offers artists the opportunity to stage their own productions

in a professional venue under a shared partnership model. Rather than relying on a traditional venue rental, productions are supported through ticket sales, allowing artists to bring their ideas to the stage with significantly less upfront financial risk. The initiative also includes technical support and collaborative promotion, helping local creatives bring original work to the stage while encouraging more homegrown performances for Aruban audiences.

Open Stage will welcome applications for productions taking place between August 1, 2026 and April 30, 2027. Artists interested in learning more are encouraged to contact Cas di Cultura by sending an email to info@casdicultura.aw to discuss their ideas and explore how the initiative can help bring their productions to the stage.
