Eduard Pieters (PPA): “Aruba Needs Fewer Politicians on Facebook and More National Leadership”

Aruba Mester Di Menos Politico Riba Facebook Y Mas Liderazgo Di Pais

According to PPA parliamentary leader Eduard Pieters, Aruba is going through a decisive moment in which the country needs leadership, information, and serious decision-making. However, political debate too often turns into an exchange of statements and discussions on Facebook and social media instead of meaningful discussions about solutions to the country’s major challenges.

“The people are not looking for more political influencers. They are looking for information. They want to understand what is happening and how the decisions made by the government will affect their future.”

Pieters emphasized that issues such as the Kingdom Act HOFA, healthcare, public safety, education, and economic development cannot be treated as a permanent political campaign conducted only on Facebook.

“These are decisions that will determine Aruba’s future. They deserve serious debate, solid arguments, and objective information.”

According to the parliamentarian, the role of an elected representative is not to encourage polarization but to create space for dialogue, consider different perspectives, and present the best possible solutions.

“Politics should not become a competition over who can shout the loudest or who is most popular on social media. Politics should be the place where ideas, sound arguments, and a vision for the common good prevail.”

Pieters concluded that PPA will continue to insist on information, transparency, and dialogue, because only a well-informed people can make responsible decisions about their future.

“A strong democracy is not built with slogans. It is built with information, dialogue, and leadership.”
