On Saturday at around 5:31 a.m., the Police Central Unit was notified via the Alarm Center that a car had likely driven into the sea near Malmok.
Police, ambulance, and fire department units were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival of the first patrol, officers met a witness who stated that the car had gone into the water and that no one had been seen coming out.
The police officers did not hesitate, quickly took action, and risked their lives by entering the water to check if someone was inside the vehicle. They saw a car submerged in the sea with a male occupant who was unresponsive.
Police requested assistance from the Coast Guard, who arrived and, together with the officers, recovered the lifeless body of the man from the vehicle.
The victim’s body was placed on the Coast Guard boat and transported to the Hadicurari pier.
At the pier, the technical police unit, forensic doctor, and investigators were present to conduct their investigation.
